“The visa bulletin provides the public with visa availability for applicants waiting to file for employment-based or family-sponsored preference adjustment of status.
Each case has a priority date (the date the application was filed). Guide to reading the visa bulletin:
- Determine your priority date;
- Select family or employment;
- Select country of birth across the top (can use your spouse’s country of birth as it could be faster) and select your employment based class or family based class from the far left column.
- People with priority dates on or earlier than the listed priority date are ready to file the application for adjustment of status (or immigrant visa application if living outside of the US).
